In year 9 students will have one lesson a week core provision. The curriculum is now designed in year 9 to reflect the fact that students have been supported with a knowledge rich curriculum in year 7 and year 8. Students will have developed a solid foundation of learning which will enable them to engage more effectively in evaluation for comparative and thematic study. In the first year of teaching for year 9 the lessons have been carefully designed so that students can understand some of the key religious traditions, philosophical and ethical debates surrounding this subject. It is focused on highlighting issues that are relevant in society today. It will explore these topics through a theological lense that incorporates Abrahamic and Dharma religious traditions. There are also philosophical and ethical units so that students have the opportunity to study all the disciplines within the subject.
