Remembrance is such an important part of who we are.
Today we held our own Remembrance ceremony. As a teacher at Ken Stimpson and now Headteacher, I have never felt such pride in our community. The students and staff were beyond a credit to the school. An experience fuelled with respect and positive emotion. Simply incredible.

As part of our recognition of Black History Month, during October our Science Faculty hosted a "Who am I? - Black Scientists" competition where students were challenged to identify scientists from information displayed around the Faculty.
Yesterday we celebrated with our winners who both correctly identified all of the scientists! Well done to you both and enjoy your Amazon vouchers!

Yesterday students and staff were treated to a random act of appreciation in the form of a double break. Students had a great time relaxing, participating in sports and even playing card games whilst staff were given the opportunity to spend a little quality time together with refreshments and a surprise gift organised by our Wellbeing Team! We hope this is something we can repeat in the future to reward the hard work that everybody has put in to adapting to new processes and creating the superb, respectful and calm atmosphere around school this term.
Some of our students will also be keen to know that the baby hedgehog they found has now been taken to the Peterborough Hedgehog Hotel to be looked after and cared for

This term has seen the return of the Headteacher's Commendations. A select group of students are chosen each week to spend some time with Mr Whales, Senior Leadership and their Heads of Year where they are presented with a certificate for their outstanding achievements.
With comments such as “Amazing attitude to your learning”, “He has embraced secondary school life”, “An outstanding member of Ken Stimpson Academy”, "I'm so proud of what he has achieved this year already" and “Always pleasant to chat to, polite and well mannered” we hope you agree that the students chosen so far have been well deserving of this special recognition!
Mr Whales, Mrs Patman and Mr Housley celebrated the achievements of students who attended Tall Ships today, with hot chocolate and cookies, they all received a participation certificate along with their RYA start yachting qualification. Well done everyone!
