Cadbury World educational visit - July
On Thursday 12th July the Business Faculty accompanied our Year 10 Business students to Cadbury World in Bourneville, Birmingham. The purpose of the visit was to allow the students to attend a seminar and Q&A session on the topic of Marketing at Cadbury’s by their education officer exploring the variety of Cadbury’s products and their marketing mix, their competitors and their advertising campaigns, including the increasing importance of social media marketing and the power of social media as a marketing tool.
The students are given a tour of the working factory. They are able to see the curriculum come to life seeing batch production, quality control and technology in business in a real factory and obviously given the opportunity to taste lots of chocolate!

Reason for event
Participating in this visit enhanced our GCSE students’ understanding of key syllabi topics and directly supports the curriculum covered in Business so far in Year 10 and upcoming topics in Year 11. The students demonstrated their business knowledge by asking some intelligent questions in the Q and A session.
Alongside the direct relevance to the syllabus content, this trip is used as a reward for good behaviour. Only students who meet the Faculty’s expected standards of homework and behaviour are permitted to attend our Business trips. This improves student motivation in lessons as the visit takes place at the end of the school year.
