By the end of Year 7/8:

Excelling

I can confidently articulate and evaluate a range of ideas from theology, philosophy and the social sciences in debates, discussion, and extended answers.
I can research and apply ideas from theology, philosophy, or the social sciences using them to critically evaluate and express arguments from different viewpoints comprehensively.
I can achieve a score of 95% in the unit assessment test. 

Advancing

I can apply ideas from theology, philosophy, or the social sciences to evaluate arguments from different viewpoints.
I can achieve a score of 80% in the unit assessment test. 

Securing

I can explain religious beliefs/worldviews, practices and sources of authority confidently, using key words and more than one example.
I can explain diverse ideas and viewpoints in a variety of ways.
I can give a developed explanation that is supported with evidence of a religious belief/worldview, practice and sources of authority.
I can explain the diversity and complexity of the lived reality of different religions and world views.
I can achieve a score of 60% in the unit assessment test. 

Developing

I can give a simple explanation of a religious belief/worldview, practice or source of authority.
I can describe religious beliefs/worldviews, practices and sources of authority using correct terms.
I can describe examples of diversity within different world views and recognise the influence on lived reality.
I can achieve a score of 40% in the unit assessment test. 

Beginning
