Religious Education
All students study Religious Education in accordance with the 1944 Education Act. We aim to give students an understanding of what religion is and an opportunity to examine beliefs, values and attitudes. The teaching is non-denominational and non-evangelical and seeks to provide a factual background to, and an appreciation of, Christianity and other world religions. Discussion of the relevance of religion to the world around us is encouraged and respect for other viewpoints is developed.
Parents have the right to withdraw students from RE lessons on religious grounds and are asked to provide a written request to discuss this proposal with a member of staff.
