Extra Curricular
Visits to Galleries and Museums - During each Key Stage opportunities are made for students to visit exhibitions. Year 7 students will go to The National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery.
GCSE and VGCSE students in Year 10 have been to the Fitzwilliam Museum and to the Botanical Museum in Cambridge
A/S & A2 students have been to The National Museum of Film and Television in Bradford as well as the Salt Mills Galleries at Saltaire, to look at the work of David Hockney
They have also been to the Saatchi Gallery in London.
In recent years these visits have included The Sainsbury Centre in Norwich, The Tate Gallery and The Royal Academy. 16 Plus students have been on a residential trip to Paris We also make use of Peterborough Museum and Gallery as well as the local sculpture trail.
Visits to School by Artists and groups - This year we were able to arrange a visit from James Mayhew, the illustrator and author for Year 8 students, involved in an illustration project. Year 10 students were visited by the Raptor Foundation with a range of birds which were drawn as part of a design project.
Competitions - The Art Department also gets involved in a range of competitions, and has enjoyed success in many.
Clubs - these are run during lunch time as well as after school.
